Job Description

Our consultancy client are seeking Senior Quantity Surveyors for secondments into Thames Water projects based out Reading with hybrid working on a permanent or freelance basis.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional looking for flexibility, with the option to work on either a freelance or permanent basis. Experience within the water sector is desirable.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nCommercial management of projects delivered under NEC3/NEC4 contracts\nPreparation and management of cost plans, budgets, forecasts, and final accounts\nAdministration of NEC contract processes, including early warnings, compensation events, and change control\nProcurement and management of subcontractors and supply chain partners\nAccurate valuation of works and assessment of applications for payment\nCommercial reporting to internal stakeholders and clients\nIdentification and management of commercial risks and opportunities\nSupporting project teams to ensure projects are delivered in line with contractual and financial objectives \n\nSkills/experience/qualifications \n\nProven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyoror Quantity Surveyor at a senior level\nStrong working knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts\nBackground in civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, or similar sectors\nWater sector experience desirable but not essential\nExcellent commercial awareness and contractual knowledge\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills\nAbility to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider team \n\nBenefits\n\nFlexible engagement: freelance or permanent - salary circa £70k - rates open to discussion (inside IR35)\nHybrid working: 2 days per week in Reading office\nOpportunity to work on complex and interesting infrastructure projects\nSupportive and professional working environment\nForward thinking project management and project control consultancy
