Senior PQS (Castlewellan or Belfast office)

MJ Donnelly is a Quantity Surveying and Project Management consultancy with a growing portfolio of projects across Northern Ireland, ROI & GB. We are a small, ambitious team and we've been recognised for it: winners of Best Property & Construction Team at the Newry Chamber Awards, and shortlisted for Construction Consultant / Surveyor of the Year (sub-100 staff) at the Building Magazine Awards.

We are looking for a Senior QS to join us at an exciting point in our development, including the expansion of our regional office.

About the role

You will take ownership of a varied project portfolio from inception through to completion, including:- measurement, cost planning, procurement, contract administration, financial reporting, and client advisory.

The projects are high-value and technically interesting, across multiple sectors. You'll be client-facing from day one and play a part in shaping the team around you, including mentoring junior staff, contributing to business development, and helping build something exciting.

This role will allow flexibility for someone to work from our Castlewellan or Belfast office

You will be supported by an experienced and collaborative team, with flexible working options and a values-driven culture.

What we're looking for

• Degree qualification (RICS accredited)
• MRICS, or working towards chartership and a commitment to CPD
• Strong skills in quantification and measurement, with the ability to oversee, review, and undertake internal QA checks with team members
• Solid consultancy experience, ideally with high-value or complex projects
• Knowledge of JCT and other standard forms of contract
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Commercially aware with excellent negotiation and organisational skills
• Knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft Office packages, BlueBeam or similar
• Ability to demonstrate both pre and post contract QS experience through project examples
