Senior Quantity Surveyor Location: London (Hybrid – site presence 3 days per week) Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Up to £75,000 + Car/Travel Allowance + Flexible Benefits Freedom’s Major Projects and Connections team has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to play a key commercial role on Project Olympus, a major 13km cable route scheme in London. Reporting to the Lead Quantity Surveyor, you will lead commercial management activities across this high profile project, providing guidance to the wider commercial team and ensuring strong financial and contractual control under NEC forms of contract. This role requires a highly capable commercial professional with proven NEC experience, strong leadership ability, and expertise in final account negotiation and high value subcontractor management. Lead the administration of NEC3/NEC4 contracts, ensuring robust commercial governance. Manage high value subcontractor accounts, including variations, claims, negotiations and final accounts. Produce, review and present CVRs, forecasts and commercial reports to senior stakeholders. Provide commercial leadership to support QS/SQS colleagues working on the project. Maintain accurate commercial documentation and ensure compliance with internal audit requirements. Attend site regularly (3 days per week) to support commercial, operational and client needs. Manage change control processes, early warnings and compensation events. Work collaboratively with engineering, delivery and commercial teams to ensure alignment on cost, risk and programme. Build strong working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and client representatives. Extensive experience in commercial management or quantity surveying roles on live NEC projects. Strong subcontractor management experience, including negotiation and final account settlement. Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (RICSaccredited preferred). Experience working on cable route, civil engineering, utilities or M&E schemes. Ability to mentor and support junior commercial team members.
