Senior Quantity Surveyor – Major Civil Engineering Project

Location: Bridgwater, Somerset

I am currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering a flagship major infrastructure project in the Bridgwater area.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take full commercial responsibility for a significant package of works, working closely with operational teams to ensure successful delivery.


Key responsibilities will include:


  • Full commercial management from procurement through to agreement of final accounts
  • Cost forecasting, reporting, and budget control
  • Administration and management of subcontractor packages, valuations, and payments
  • Identification and management of commercial and contractual risks
  • Working collaboratively with project managers and site teams
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team


About You

To be considered, you will have:


  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor on civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, or major construction projects
  • Strong commercial acumen with a solid understanding of contracts (NEC experience highly desirable)
  • Confidence managing multiple work packages and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Chartered status (RICS / ICES / CIOB) or working towards chartership (desirable)
