Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor (Civils & Rail - Contract) \nLocation: Manchester, UK \nContract Type: Contract \nDuration: 6 months minimum with potential for Extension \nDay Rate: Competitive / Negotiable \n________________________________________ \nOverview: \nWe are currently recruiting for a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client on a contract basis in Manchester. The client is a well-established contractor operating across civils and rail infrastructure projects. This role will involve supporting the commercial delivery of key schemes including rail upgrades, bridges and structures.
\n________________________________________ \nKey Responsibilities: \n- Take full commercial responsibility for assigned civils and rail projects \n- Manage subcontract procurement, tendering, and contract administration \n- Prepare and monitor project budgets, forecasts, CVRs, and cash flow \n- Assess subcontractor applications, variations, and final accounts \n- Ensure cost control, risk management, and value engineering throughout the project lifecycle \n- Liaise with operational and client teams to ensure timely reporting and commercial support \n- Attend site meetings and contribute to project planning and commercial strategy \n- Produce monthly cost/value reconciliation and commercial reports for senior leadership \n________________________________________ \nRequirements: \n- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on civil engineering and/or rail infrastructure projects \n- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline \n- Strong understanding of cost management, tendering, procurement, and contract law \n- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple project packages
