Senior Quantity Surveyor - Freelance (CIS) - £450/day - Onsite
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major infrastructure project at the forefront of the UK's transition to renewable energy.
This role is based on a landmark offshore wind development off the Suffolk coast, forming a critical part of Britain's national grid upgrade and clean energy strategy. The project will enable the transmission of up to 1GW of offshore wind power-enough to supply nearly one million homes-making it a key contributor to the UK's net zero ambitions.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering the onshore substation works, ensuring robust commercial management across a complex and high-value engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead commercial and contractual management of onshore substation works Oversee cost planning, forecasting, and reporting Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and accounts Administer contracts and ensure compliance with project requirements Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks Prepare and present financial reports to senior stakeholders Support project delivery teams with commercial insight and guidanceRequirements:
Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on major infrastructure or energy projects Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (or similar) Experience working on civil engineering, utilities, or energy schemes Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, site-based environment Relevant degree or professional qualification (e.g., RICS) preferredDetails:
