Our client is a leading sports ground engineering, commercial landscaping, and environmental services contractor based in Bridgend, South Wales

Role Overview

We are seeking a commercial-minded Quantity Surveyor to join the team in Bridgend. You will manage contract administration, cost control, subcontractor performance, and financial reporting for landscaping, irrigation, drainage, and civil engineering projects of varying size and complexity.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage subcontractor packages, valuations, variations, and final accounts.

* Produce cost reports, monthly CVRs, and cash flow forecasting.

* Review contract documents, liaise with site and commercial teams.

* Assist with cost planning, tender pricing, and bid support.

* Measure quantities and assess variations or claims.

* Support procurement of materials and subcontract services.

* Maintain compliance with NEC-style/custom contract terms.

* Develop strong commercial relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.

Requirements

* Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in civil engineering, landscaping, or irrigation QS roles.

* Strong knowledge of contract administration and cost planning.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting tools.

* Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

* Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to project sites.

Desirable Attributes

* Experience within sports surfacing, irrigation, drainage, or grounds engineering.

* Familiarity with environmental regulations and landscape construction.

* Chartered or working toward MRICS / ACI qualification.
