Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on a large-scale port extension and redevelopment project. This is a long-term, permanent opportunity on a major civil engineering scheme.
The successful candidate will have a strong civils background, particularly in works below ground, and will play a key role in the commercial management of the project from delivery through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
*
Commercial management of major civil engineering work packages
*
Cost control, forecasting, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle
*
Managing subcontractor procurement, valuations, variations, and final accounts
*
Preparing and negotiating interim applications and change events
*
Supporting delivery teams with commercial and contractual advice
*
Ensuring contractual compliance and protecting the commercial position
*
Assisting with CVRs and financial reporting
*
Working closely with site and project teams
Essential Experience
*
Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on civil engineering projects
*
Strong background in civils works, including:\n - Earthworks\n - Groundworks\n - Water infrastructure\n - Roads / highways\n - Ports or marine works (highly advantageous)\n- Experience on large-scale infrastructure schemes
*
Strong knowledge of NEC forms of contract
*
Excellent commercial and negotiation skills
Desirable Experience
*
Previous experience on port or marine infrastructure projects
*
Tier 1 or major infrastructure contractor experience
*
Strong stakeholder engagement skills
