Senior Quantity Surveyor Civil Engineering Contractor Leicestershire
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering a major infrastructure scheme in Leicestershire.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor or experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to take ownership of the commercial management of a significant civil engineering project valued between £5m £60m+.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager / Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing project costs, subcontractor procurement, and ensuring the commercial success of the scheme from pre-contract through to final account.

This role would suit someone with experience in civil engineering, infrastructure, highways, utilities, or industrial projects.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities
  • Full commercial management of a civil engineering project

  • Subcontractor procurement, negotiation and management

  • Preparing and submitting applications for payment / valuations

  • Managing variations, change control and final accounts

  • Attending pre-contract and post-tender meetings

  • Managing subcontract accounts from tender through to final account

  • Working closely with site teams and project managers

  • Monitoring project costs, budgets and commercial performance

  • Identifying commercial risks and implementing mitigation strategies

  • Ensuring compliance with contract conditions and company procedures

  • Supporting the commercial reporting process

Senior Quantity Surveyor Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor

  • Background working for a civil engineering contractor or infrastructure contractor

  • Experience delivering projects £5m £60m+

  • Strong knowledge of contract administration and commercial management

  • Experience managing subcontractor packages

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting tools

  • Ability to work effectively within a project delivery team
