Senior Quantity Surveyor – Permanent – Hybrid (London)

Belcan Workforce Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our clients team, supporting a leading engineering consultancy on a range of complex and high-value projects. This is a permanent hybrid role, based in London, with three days per week in the office.

About the Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in managing procurement and contract administration across major construction and engineering projects. You’ll be responsible for developing procurement strategies, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and client expectations. Your expertise will help shape project delivery and contribute to the successful execution of large-scale initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead procurement activities from pre-qualification through to contract award and close-out. Administer contracts, including payments, variations, forecasting, and expediting. Review and advise on main contract terms and conditions. Negotiate claims and variations, ensuring advantageous outcomes. Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure compliance and timely delivery. Support project teams and contribute to safety and quality initiatives. Report progress and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

Minimum 10 years’ experience in procurement and contract management within construction or regulated sectors. Strong understanding of standard UK contract forms (NEC, IChemE, JCT). Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with COINS, SAP, or Ariba is a plus. Degree-qualified, ideally with MRICS membership. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as needed.
