This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team where your expertise will directly contribute to the success of their projects.\n\nYour new role:\n Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their construction team in Liverpool.

You will play a key role in managing cost control and financial administration across general building and minor civil projects, as well as supporting the housing frameworks division. The successful candidate will also mentor junior team members and contribute to the ongoing development of the commercial team. This is a pivotal role for someone passionate about delivering projects efficiently, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.\n\nResponsibilities will include:\n\nLead and manage a team of quantity surveyors, providing mentorship and support.\n\nPrepare, review, and analyse project budgets, estimates, and cost plans from initial design to completion.\n\nDevelop and monitor profit improvement plans for all contracts to prevent losses and maximise opportunities.\n\nMonitor project costs throughout construction, ensuring budgets are adhered to.\n\nConduct site visits to assess progress and identify cost-saving or overrun risks.\n\nLiaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to negotiate competitive pricing.\n\nManage variations, change orders, and ensure accurate cost documentation.\n\nPrepare detailed financial reports highlighting risks or discrepancies.\n\nSupport procurement activities, including tender preparation and bid evaluation.\n\nEnsure compliance with contractual financial obligations.\n\nOversee monthly financial reporting, including cashflow forecasts, cost reviews, and contribution meetings.\n\nEnsure timely final account agreement and retention recovery.\n\nBuild strong relationships across the business, including estimating, construction, finance, and procurement teams.\n\nProvide commercial guidance to contracts managers, project managers, and site managers.\n\nReview, negotiate, and de-risk contracts, ensuring effective back-to-back arrangements with designers and the supply chain.\n\nWhat you will need to succeed:\n\nProven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a similar-sized contractor.\n\nExperience managing multiple projects under £1m in a fast-paced environment.\n\nStrong expertise in cost control, budgeting, and financial analysis.\n\nExcellent organisational and multi-tasking skills.\n\nStrong communication and negotiation skills.\n\nRelevant professional qualification such as RICS accreditation or equivalent preferred.\n\nThorough understanding of construction processes, contracts, and legal considerations.\n\nWhat you get in return:\n\nCompetitive salary of £65,000 per year plus performance bonus opportunities.\n\nA permanent, full-time role within a growing and dynamic team.\n\nOpportunity to lead and mentor a commercial team and make a real impact on project delivery.\n\nExposure to a diverse range of projects, including housing frameworks, refurbishment, and minor civil works.\n\nSupportive work environment focused on professional development and career progression.\n\nA company culture that values high standards, safety, and quality.\n\nApply: If you're interested in this opportunity, then please get in touch today with our Commercial Specialist, Mark Harris.
