The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the commercial and cost aspects of significant transport and infrastructure projects in the North Cumbria region. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering projects from inception to completion, ensuring financial and contractual objectives are met.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

Leading commercial management across large-scale infrastructure projects.

Preparing and maintaining cost plans, budgets, and cash flows.

Managing subcontractor procurement, valuations, and payments.

Providing accurate cost reporting and commercial advice to project teams and clients.

Identifying, assessing, and mitigating commercial risks.

Mentoring and supporting junior QS staff where required.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will have:

Proven experience in infrastructure, highways, or civil engineering projects.

Strong understanding of contract administration, measurement, and valuation techniques.

Excellent knowledge of commercial procedures and risk management.

Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

A relevant professional qualification (e.g., MRICS) preferred.
