Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor (PQS)

Location: Manchester

Salary: £65,000–£75,000 + excellent benefits package


A leading global consultancy with a strong and growing UK presence is expanding its Manchester cost management team. The UK business has seen significant growth and is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead and support the delivery of major public‑sector programmes across the North.


The team delivers major projects across education, healthcare, local government and wider public‑sector programmes, including university estates, levelling‑up schemes and large‑scale hospital developments. The Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in delivering cost management services across a diverse portfolio of projects. You’ll work closely with clients, project teams and internal leaders to ensure robust commercial management, accurate reporting and excellent service delivery. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre‑ and post‑contract cost management services across major public‑sector projects
  • Prepare cost plans, estimates, tender documentation and contract administration
  • Lead day‑to‑day commercial management on live projects
  • Support client engagement, reporting and stakeholder communication
  • Contribute to bids, frameworks and business development activity
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members
  • Ensure high technical standards, governance and quality assurance across all outputs
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support successful project delivery


Essential Requirements

  • Strong PQS consultancy background with experience delivering public‑sector projects
  • Solid technical capability across cost planning, procurement and post‑contract management
  • Confident client‑facing skills with the ability to build trusted relationships
  • Experience supporting or leading elements of project delivery
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem‑solving skills
  • Desire to contribute to team development and a positive, collaborative culture
