Responsibilities
Supporting management and mentoring waste engineers within the team.
Providing customer and project‑facing technical support and advice.
Producing governance documents and technical reports to underpin waste strategies.
Ensuring compliance with UK nuclear industry legislation and best practice.
Driving continuous improvement in waste characterisation, processing, and transport.
Essential Experience
Applied understanding of radioactive waste management, including characterisation, processing, sentencing, packaging and transport.
Extensive knowledge of environmental legislation in the UK nuclear industry.
Ability to determine and apply Best Available Techniques (BAT) with robust justification.
High levels of numeracy and IT proficiency, including data interpretation and spreadsheet development.
Excellent technical writing and communication skills for diverse audiences.
Qualifications
Degree in a relevant subject.
Extensive radioactive waste management qualifications and/or experience.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
