Job Description

If you’re the type of engineer who can’t walk past a production line without spotting a way to make it better. This one’s for you.

We’re partnering with a high-performing manufacturing facility looking for a hands-on Continuous Improvement Engineer to take real ownership of engineering performance across key production areas.

This isn’t a reactive maintenance post. You’ll be trusted to challenge processes, drive reliability, and deliver measurable improvements that keep production moving.

You’ll sit at the heart of operations, solving problems, leading improvement projects, managing budgets, and influencing how engineering supports the wider business.

The Role

  • Drive line performance by planning and delivering engineering activity that improves OEE and reduces downtime.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, TPM, RCA and RCM principles.
  • Manage a tactical engineering budget, ensuring resources are used where they deliver the biggest impact.
  • Take ownership of contractor performance, ensuring work is completed safely, compliantly and to a high standard.
  • Develop capability within the team, identifying training gaps and coaching engineers to raise overall standards.
  • Support shutdowns, overhauls, and CAPEX delivery, ensuring projects land on time and on budget.

About You

  • Mechanically, electrically qualified with experience in FMCG, brewing or food manufacturing.
  • Naturally hands-on. Comfortable fault finding, improving systems, and getting stuck into technical challenges.
  • Experienced in maintenance planning, continuous improvement, and contractor supervision.
  • A strong communicator who can influence operators, engineers, and leadership alike.
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable balancing shop-floor problem solving with forward planning.

Why This Role?

  • Genuine ownership, your decisions directly impact production performance.
  • A fast-moving, technically interesting environment where improvements don’t sit in spreadsheets - they get delivered.
  • Supportive leadership, strong team culture and real opportunities to develop your career.
