A leading insurer is looking for a Senior Schemes Underwriter to join its high-performing Schemes team, focusing on Commercial Property Owners and specialist sectors.

This is a commercially focused role combining underwriting expertise, broker relationship management, and portfolio strategy.


The Opportunity

You’ll take ownership of complex underwriting decisions while playing a key role in driving profitable growth across a specialist schemes portfolio. Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll help shape underwriting strategy and strengthen key broker partnerships.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite complex risks and manage referrals across the schemes portfolio
  • Drive profitable growth through portfolio and underwriting strategy
  • Build and manage key broker relationships
  • Identify emerging risks and opportunities to maintain market position


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ underwriting experience within commercial lines (ideally property)
  • ACII qualified or working towards
  • Strong decision-making, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to handle complex cases
