We're looking for a dedicated Interim Senior Science Technician to join our welcoming school in South Birmingham.This is a great opportunity to work within a supportive science department, helping to deliver engaging and safe practical science experiences for students and bring science to life in everyday life.This is a temporary position to start 13th April 2026, Monday - Friday, 08.30am - 16.30pm. We're seeking someone who brings both technical expertise and a positive, proactive attitude. We are looking for someone who has worked within a school science department and a DBS on the update service would be an advantage. Your new role As a Senior Science Technician, you'll play a vital part in the day-to-day running of the science department by: Preparing and maintaining resources and specialist equipment for lessons Supporting staff and students during practical experiments Ensuring all Health and Safety regulations are followed and documented Maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly working environment Managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and keeping accurate records Assisting with lesson planning, coursework administration, and classroom tasks Supervising students during lessons, exams, and practical's Promoting good behaviour and a purposeful learning atmosphere Conducting daily checks for damage or vandalism and arranging repairs as needed Lead, support, and coordinate the team of Science Technicians, delegating tasks to ensure efficient operations.
