Senior Site Engineer – Westminster, London

£70,000-£80,000 + Benefits


A leading UK main contractor is seeking a Senior Site Engineer to join the delivery team on a major hotel development in Westminster. The project involves the design and construction of a new-build hotel comprising approximately 700 bedrooms, along with a ground floor restaurant and associated external works and service infrastructure.


The contractor is widely recognised for delivering high-profile hospitality, commercial and mixed-use developments across the UK, working closely with clients to deliver technically complex projects to a high standard.


Role Overview

The Senior Site Engineer will play a key role in supporting the site management team and ensuring the technical delivery of the project. The position will involve responsibility for setting out, quality control and technical coordination across multiple work packages throughout the build programme.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out accurate setting out and dimensional control across various stages of the build
  • Oversee quality assurance for structural works including substructure, reinforced concrete frame and building envelope
  • Ensure construction works comply with drawings, specifications and technical standards
  • Maintain detailed quality records and as-built documentation
  • Coordinate inspections with consultants, design teams and external inspectors
  • Support the project team in managing short-term programmes and subcontractor activities
  • Attend and contribute to technical and progress meetings
  • Work closely with commercial teams regarding progress and subcontractor coordination


Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience working as a Site Engineer or Senior Site Engineer on large construction projects
  • Strong understanding of setting out, structural works and quality control procedures
  • Experience working with RC structures and large-scale developments preferred
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Relevant construction or engineering qualification
