Senior Site Manager – Occupied Data Centre Project (Bedford)
Rate: £450 per day Type: Temp to Perm Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00–17:00 (1‑hour break)
Overview
We’re recruiting for an experienced Senior Site Manager to oversee a long‑term programme of works on an occupied, business‑critical facility in the Bedford area. The project involves enabling works, demolition, internal strip‑out and some external packages, all taking place within a live environment with an active maintenance team on site.
This role requires someone confident managing people, stakeholders, and sensitive operations where dust control, segregation, and communication are essential.
Key Responsibilities

Lead day‑to‑day site operations on a fully occupied facility
*
Manage enabling works, demo, internal strip‑out and associated external works
*
Coordinate closely with the existing maintenance team
*
Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and address concerns proactively
*
Ensure strict dust‑control and environmental protection measures
*
Oversee CDM responsibilities and ensure compliance across all contractors
*
Drive programme, safety, and quality standards
*
Manage teams effectively in a sensitive, live environment
Ideal Candidate
*
Senior Site Manager with experience in occupied buildings
*
Background in data centres, critical environments, or live facilities is highly desirable
*
Strong stakeholder management skills
*
Confident managing maintenance teams and demo/strip‑out crews
*
Able to operate in a high‑sensitivity, zero‑downtime environment
