The Company
A respected construction contractor based in Lancashire is seeking an experienced Site Manager or Senior Site Manager to join their growing delivery team. With a strong portfolio of public and private sector clients, they specialise in delivering complex schemes across education, healthcare, and commercial environments, with project values reaching up to £20 million. Known for their commitment to quality, safety, and client satisfaction, they operate across multiple frameworks and direct contracts throughout the North West.
About the Role
As the Site Manager, you’ll take full ownership of site operations from groundworks to handover. You will lead teams and subcontractors to ensure that works are delivered safely, on programme, and to a high standard. This is a key delivery role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment and takes pride in managing well-organised and compliant sites.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Lead day-to-day site operations, supervising trades and subcontractors
* Enforce health & safety compliance, including RAMS and CDM regulations
* Coordinate with the wider project team to track progress against programme
* Act as the site’s main point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders
* Ensure works are delivered in line with specifications, drawings, and contract terms
* Oversee site logistics, including plant, materials, and labour allocation
* Maintain accurate records including site diaries, progress reports, and quality documentation
Required Experience & Qualifications
* Demonstrable track record managing new build and refurbishment projects (ideally up to £20M)
* Experience in public sector (NHS, schools) and/or commercial build environments
* Valid SMSTS, CSCS (Black or Gold card ), and First Aid at Work certification
* Strong technical knowledge of current building regs and health & safety legislation
* Excellent communication, leadership, and reporting skills
* Full UK driving licence
Desirable Attributes
* NVQ Level 6 (or equivalent) in Construction Site Management
* Familiarity with local authority frameworks and JCT contract administration
