Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager (SSM) for a 24-week freelance contract on an industrial warehouse refurbishment, focused primarily on internal works.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Project Manager and take responsibility for managing day-to-day site operations, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to a high standard.
This role would suit an SSM with strong experience in industrial refurbishments and internal fit-out packages within warehouse or logistics environments.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee all internal refurbishment works within an existing warehouse
*
Manage subcontractors across fit-out, M&E, partitions, flooring, fire protection and finishes
*
Ensure works are delivered in line with programme and specification
*
Implement and review RAMS and site documentation
*
Maintain strict health & safety compliance at all times
*
Coordinate daily site activities and sequencing of trades
*
Monitor quality control and carry out regular inspections
*
Report progress and site updates to the Project Manager
*
Chair subcontractor meetings and manage logistics within a live/operational environment (if applicable)
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager on industrial or warehouse refurbishment projects
*
Strong background in internal works and fit-out packages
*
Experience working under a Project Manager on structured programmes
*
SMSTS (essential)
*
CSCS Black Card
*
First Aid at Work
*
Strong H&S knowledge and documentation experience
*
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Desirable
*
Experience in live or partially operational warehouse environments
*
Industrial M&E coordination experience
*
Background with recognised main contractors
