Senior Software Engineer – Security

Protecting the UK requires more than just great code — it takes smart, motivated engineers working on solutions that really matter. This role puts you at the heart of projects that directly support security, with the chance to make a tangible impact every day.

Role Overview:

Location: Bristol, Cheltenham, or Manchester (3-4 days onsite) Package: Competitive salary + strong benefits package Industry: Security / Government Clearance: Active eDV clearance required

What You’ll Be Doing:

Designing, developing, and testing bespoke software solutions. Working across the full software lifecycle — from requirements gathering through to deployment and support. Building and deploying systems into secure cloud environments (AWS, Azure, private cloud). Creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to ensure quality and security. Using a range of open-source technologies and modern programming . Leading small teams or client engagements, depending on experience.

Main Skills Needed:

Strong background in backend or full-stack development. Experience with Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and frameworks like React. Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure). Familiarity with Agile practices and CI/CD tools (e.g. GitLab). Must hold (or be eligible for) high-level UK security clearance — British passport and 5+ years’ required.
