Job DescriptionSenior Software Engineer | Outside IR35 | Remote AI MVP Delivery | Public Sector | Contract
SR2 is supporting a public sector organisation delivering an AI readiness programme, focused on taking an existing proof of concept through to a fully testable MVP. This role will support the engineering delivery of an AI use case, working closely with a multi-disciplinary team, while remaining hands-on building, integrating and refining the technical solution.
The Role You’ll play a key role in the delivery of an AI-enabled service, contributing to design and implementation decisions and working closely with a Lead Engineer, data scientists and a user-centred designer. The focus is on iterative delivery, building a new UI, and integrating AI capabilities into a secure, scalable platform.
Key Responsibilities
\n Contribute to delivery of an AI MVP from proof of concept to user testing \n
Build and enhance full-stack features across the service \n
Collaborate with data scientists on AI capability integration \n
Implement cloud-native, containerised solutions \n
Contribute to technical decisions, patterns and best practices \n
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for software and infrastructure \n
Work closely with UCD to deliver accessible, user-focused interfaces \n
Support Agile delivery through estimation, planning and refinement \n
Essential
\n 4–8+ years’ experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer \n
Strong experience with such as Python, R or TypeScript \n
Proven delivery experience in cloud environments (AWS or Azure) \n
Hands-on experience working with Kubernetes-based platforms \n
Experience contributing to CI/CD pipelines \n
Experience delivering services across the software lifecycle \n
Strong Agile delivery experience \n
Comfortable working in multidisciplinary, client-facing teams \n
Desirable
\n Experience with RedHat OpenShift or hybrid cloud platforms \n
Exposure to MLOps pipelines and processes \n
Experience building UIs using a design system \n
Public sector delivery experience \n
Healthcare or complex organisational environments \n
