Role: Senior Software Engineer / Tech Lead

Location: London / Hybrid 3 days per week

Salary: £100,000 – £110,000 + package

The Opportunity

This role suits someone who's a Senior IC Software Engineer or Tech Lead to take ownership of a mission-critical internal platform that underpins operational delivery and connects multiple engineering teams.

You’ll lead a lean but high-impact engineering team, improve technical maturity, increase platform robustness and help ensure the product can support wider commercial growth.

You’ll be trusted to own delivery, technical direction and day-to-day decision making, allowing senior leadership to focus on broader strategic priorities.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Own the technical roadmap, stability and ongoing development of a core internal platform
• Lead and mentor a small engineering team (currently permanent + contractor resource)
• Stay hands-on in the codebase while providing leadership and direction
• Improve platform robustness, resilience and release confidence
• Drive engineering best practice across CI/CD, testing, code quality and observability
• Manage incidents and production issues with calm ownership
• Partner closely with Product, Operations and wider engineering teams
• Help shape future team growth as the platform expands
• Contribute ideas around automation, workflow efficiency and commercial scalability

We’d Love to See

• Previous experience as a Tech Lead, Engineering Lead or Senior Full Stack Engineer stepping into leadership
• Strong hands-on capability with TypeScript / React environments
• Experience improving legacy or fragile systems
• Ability to balance roadmap delivery with platform stability
• Comfortable leading small teams while remaining hands-on
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
