About The Job We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (ColdFusion/Oracle) to oversee an offshore software engineering team to work on critical changes and maintenance of existing systems. The role will primarily sit within a Scrum team in our wider IT Service Function, building and supporting new systems to be used by our IB stakeholders. This role requires a clear understanding and hands-on experience of Coldfusion with an Oracle database. Our business services involve multiple processes taking place in an event driven, microservices architecture. Functionality delivered purely via services is significant, so this is a full stack role with an emphasis on backend development, although frontend development experience is also beneficial. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities
Development and delivery of enterprise-strength solutions for our IBIS platform using PL/SQL and ColdFusion. Participating in Scrum ceremonies, elaboration and refinement sessions. Producing functionally correct, unit tested, performant and deployable software artefacts. Collaborate effectively with Developers, Architects, QAs, and Product Owners. Ensuring software meets NFRs, especially for Security, Maintainability, and Performance. Help coordinate and oversee the development activities of an offshore engineering team. Produce and maintain technical documentation as required during the SDLC. Documentation review and code review of third-party deliverables. Assisting with code quality monitoring, reporting and assurance across IB projects. Review and create user stories and acceptance criteria where applicable as well as supporting peer reviews for quality assurance. Support software releases and deployment into production environment. Performing demos to stakeholders distributed globally. Handovers, support and training of the application support team for new deliverables.
Qualifications Job Requirements About You
Proven full stack development experience, ideally within large scale enterprise solutions. Comprehensive working understanding of Coldfusion, CSS, Jquery and Javascript for front-end development. Oracle Database development experience including complex PL/SQL packages, data scripts, DDL statements and perform code optimisation. Experience in systems design and analysis and producing high quality technical documentation. Experience working in global teams, including offshore third party suppliers. A good working knowledge of Agile Methodologies is desirable.
