We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, design-led lifestyle hospitality group for an experienced Senior Sous Chef to join one of their flagship all-day dining restaurants in Southwark. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong kitchen leader to work in a high-quality, fast-paced environment where food, people, and culture are equally important.
The Restaurant The venue is a busy all-day neighbourhood restaurant with a strong focus on fresh ingredients, bold flavours, and modern, crowd-pleasing dishes. The concept is inspired by relaxed Mediterranean dining and operates within a premium hospitality setting alongside other high-profile food and beverage outlets.
The Role Reporting into the Head Chef, the Senior Sous Chef will play a key role in the smooth running of the kitchen, maintaining high standards while supporting and developing the team.
Key responsibilities: Leading kitchen sections during service and supporting where required Coaching, mentoring, and developing junior chefs Supporting daily kitchen operations including ordering, stock control, and deliveries Ensuring excellent food hygiene, health & safety, and compliance standards Working with the Head Chef on menu development and kitchen innovation Acting as Head Chef in their absence Ensuring consistency, quality, and attention to detail on every dish
The Ideal Candidate We are seeking a confident, hands-on Senior Sous Chef who thrives in a quality-driven environment.
You will have: Previous experience as a Senior Sous Chef or strong Sous Chef in a comparable restaurant or hotel A passion for fresh, seasonal ingredients and well-executed flavours Strong leadership skills with a calm, collaborative approach An ego-free mindset and willingness to support the wider team A positive attitude and commitment to delivering excellent guest experiences Flexibility, creativity, and a desire to keep learning and improving
