The system operates on a complex set of SQL Server databases across many different customer environments (including AWS and Azure). Working closely with the Head of Data Services you will be responsible for a wide scope of database support functions including, design, support, performance, and reporting.
The role requires:
- Established skills in T-SQL programming.
- A deep understanding of Microsoft SQL Server fundamentals including, indexes, statistics, query plans, tempdb, installation, configuration, DMVs and, troubleshooting.
- A good understanding relational table design including normalisation, constraints, OLAP vs OLTP, traditional data warehousing.
- Experienced in critical thinking and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed instance would be beneficial. xbpsjku
- Experience with Power BI would be beneficial but not essential
- Ability to communicate confidently with technical, non-technical, internal, and external personnel.
