Job Description

An award-winning multidisciplinary engineering practice is seeking a talented and motivated Structural Engineer to join its Birmingham studio.\n\nThis is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in delivering inventive, high-quality structural design across a diverse portfolio of projects. The practice is highly design-led, working in close collaboration with architects to create intelligent, innovative buildings that are both technically robust and environmentally responsible.\n\nThe Role\n\nYou will play a key role in the day-to-day technical delivery of structural engineering projects, managing schemes from early concept through to construction. Reporting to an Associate or Associate Director, you will be responsible for leading design work, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and to the highest standards.\n\nKey responsibilities include\n\nLeading the technical delivery of structural engineering projects\nPreparing and overseeing calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports\nReviewing engineering designs produced by others to ensure technical excellence\nCoordinating with clients, architects, contractors and consultants throughout design and construction\nAttending design meetings, site inspections and progress reviews\nMentoring and supporting the development of junior engineers\nContributing to resourcing and programming discussions in team meetings\nEnsuring compliance with UK design codes, sustainability objectives and statutory requirements\nSupporting business development activities and maintaining strong client relationships\nAbout You\n\nMinimum 3 years' post graduate experience in a structural design consultancy environment\nStrong understanding of UK design codes, procurement routes and construction methodologies\nActively working towards Chartered status (ICE or IStructE)\nConfident managing projects and communicating with multidisciplinary teams\nTechnically strong, collaborative and commercially aware\nMotivated to contribute to a supportive, design-focused studio culture\nWhat's on Offer\n\n25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays and additional annual leave for long service\nYour birthday off\nReimbursement of professional membership fees\nHybrid working arrangements\nFlexible working hours\nTime off in lieu scheme\nCompany performance related bonus\nEnhanced maternity and shared parental leave\nThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative, forward-thinking practice where you can take ownership of projects, develop professionally, and contribute meaningfully to innovative structural design.\n\nIf you would like to be considered for this opportunity please apply or contact Abi on (phone number removed)
