LB408 - Senior / Principal Structural Engineer\n\nSalary: £45,000 - £65,000\n\nLocation: Sheffield\n\nOverview:\n\nFirst Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Senior / Principal Structural Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.\n\nOur client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities:\n\nPerform structural design calculations for steel, concrete, timber and masonry following British Standards / Euro Codes.\nAdhere to internal QMS procedures ensuring compliance with internal design checking protocols.\nCoordinate with professionals and contractors, manage time for timely project delivery.\nWork independently on smaller projects or as part of a team on larger schemes.\nEnsure commercial delivery of projects, meeting deadlines and budgets.\nCollaborate with other consulting offices and disciplines.\nSupervise trial hole investigations for refurbishment projects and undertake visual structural inspections.\nMentor Junior Engineers.\nLiaise with clients and design team members to meet client briefs, attending meetings as required.\nContribute to fee proposals and tender submissions.\nAssist in project management, ensuring commercial delivery, meeting timescales and budgets.\nSkills and Qualifications:\n\nCompletion of Degree in relevant engineering subject\nMinimum 5 to 7 years’ experience working in similar engineering consultancy.\nChartered or working towards and close to achieving membership of relevant professional institution (e.g., Chartered Member of ICE or IStructE).\nSolid knowledge of all relevant British Standards and Design Codes.\nAbility to produce designs underpinned by strong engineering principles.\nProficient in technical design packages such as Tekla, CADS and Tedds.\nProficient in AutoCAD would be a bonus.\nPossess a full driving licence and have access to a car for business use.\nBenefits:\n\nMembership of group personal pension plan, with employer's contribution of 5%.\nPayment of a relevant professional subscription.\n25 days annual leave per year (plus bank holidays).\nTraining and professional development plan.\nInclusion in life assurance policy, insuring you for 4 times your annual salary.\nIncome protection scheme.\nPrivate healthcare insurance.\nHealthcare cash plan.\nFlexible working arrangements.\nCycle to work scheme.\nAnnual paid volunteering day
