Senior Structural Engineer

My client is offering an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join a forward‑thinking and rapidly growing engineering team. As Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality technical solutions, contributing expert design input, and ensuring engineering standards are consistently met. You will provide guidance and support across disciplines, take a proactive coordination role when required, and help shape new approaches, designs, and ideas as part of the company’s ongoing investment in research, development, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Taking responsibility for engineering design calculations across assigned projects.
• Ensuring that all classification society and authority requirements set out in project specifications are achieved.
• Actively managing the quality and detail of project deliverables, ensuring appropriate levels of checking and timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Liaising professionally with customers, representatives, subcontractors, suppliers, and authorities to ensure accurate information flow and timely resolution of queries.
• Managing your own workload across multiple projects, following agreed priorities and proposing solutions where time demands may conflict.
• Reviewing project work to identify potential technical risks and discussing these with the Technical Project Manager.
About You:
•A minimum of eight years relevant experience within the marine industry.
• Strong self‑motivation with effective time planning and workload management skills to meet deadlines and deliverables.
• Proven ability to analyse technical challenges and determine correct engineering solutions using sound judgement.
• Ability to produce clear, well‑presented drawings, plans, and technical reports to a high professional standard.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to ensure work is completed to the required level of detail, aligned to contractual deliverables and monitored against project budgets.
