This is an excellent opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join our London office and become part of a team working on a variety of high profile projects throughout the UK and beyond.The post will offer the successful applicant an interesting, challenging and varied workload as well as allowing them to develop their career as an engineer, both personally and professionally.Ideally, you will be a positive, motivated and versatile individual who can adopt a flexible approach to their role and provide support to the team within the office - an individual who is willing to go the extra mile to ensure work is delivered accurately and on time.Your Role:Reporting directly to a senior member of the team, you will:-Undertake structural design (typically Eurocode & British Standards) in a variety of materialsAssist in the delivery of projects on time and to budgetExercise a degree of autonomy in decision making to achieve the teams objectivesComply with quality management and technical excellence systems and project proceduresAssist in the contract administration of projectsUndertake site visits and surveysLiaise with clients, architects and other design team members to develop designsWork as part of a larger team on major Tetra Tech commissions across our national and international teamsSkills, Knowledge and Experience:Have a UK accredited degree (either BEng(Hons) or MEng) in Civil or Structural EngineeringExperience working in a structural engineering consultancy environmentAttained or near Chartered Engineer statusGood attitude to health and safety practices within the workplace and designA strong commitment to knowledge acquisition and CPDFully IT literate and proficient in the use of standard Microsoft OfficeHave the ability to use structural engineering design software such as TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer, Robot, SCIA, AutoCAD and Autodesk Building Design Suite REVIT StructuresExcellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate with clients, architects, contractors, other consultants (at all levels) and statutory authoritiesSuitability for UK security clearancePerson specification:Self-motivated to achieve the highest levels of excellence within the companyAn enthusiastic and professional approach to engineering problemsExhibit good interpersonal and communication skillsAn effective team player, organised and flexibleGood time management and reliability and display initiativeAbility to work collaboratively with other team members internally and externallyPossess attention to detail and desire to deliver high quality outputOwnership of the work done under your controlAbout Tetra Tech:Tetra Tech is a leading provider of high-end consulting and engineering services for projects worldwide.
