Senior Support Worker – Children’s Residential Home

As a Senior Therapeutic Support Worker, you will take a leading role on shift, supporting the day-to-day running of the home while modelling best practice in trauma-informed care.
You will provide direct support to young people while also guiding and mentoring Therapeutic Practitioners to ensure high standards of care, safeguarding, and professional practice are consistently maintained.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practitioner ready to step into a senior position within a therapeutic, reflective environment.
About the Home
We are working in partnership with a well-established therapeutic children’s residential home in Faversham, supporting young people aged 8–18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and complex needs.
The home operates within a therapeutic community model, where relationships, consistency, structure, and reflective practice are central to achieving positive outcomes for young people.
Key Responsibilities
* Acting as shift lead and supporting the smooth operation of the home
* Building and maintaining trusting, therapeutic relationships with young people
* Supporting emotional regulation and promoting resilience
* Implementing and modelling trauma-informed and therapeutic practice
* Mentoring and supporting junior team members
* Contributing to care planning, risk assessments, and reviews
* Ensuring safeguarding standards are upheld at all times
* Supporting reflective practice and continuous team development
Rota & Package
* 8am – 11pm shifts + sleep-in
* Working 2–3 shifts per week with rest days in between
* 6 sleep-ins per month included in salary
* Additional sleep-ins paid at £60 per night

* Experienced in working with young people who have experienced trauma and EBD
* Confident in supporting and mentoring colleagues
* Reflective and committed to therapeutic approaches
* Flexible and committed to achieving positive outcomes
Qualifications & Experience
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential
* Previous experience within a children’s residential setting
* Experience leading shifts or supporting team members (desirable)
