I'm working on behalf of a valued client to recruit an experienced Senior Support Worker for a specialist residential home supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
About the Role:
As a Senior Support Worker, you'll lead by example-guiding shifts, supporting your team, and creating a safe, stable, and nurturing space for children who have experienced adversity. You'll play a vital part in helping them feel secure, valued, and capable of moving forward positively.
What You'll Do:
·Lead shifts, delegate tasks, and ensure smooth daily operations
·Be the senior point of contact in incidents and offer on-call support
·Build lasting, trust-based relationships with young people
·Help staff understand and apply care plans and behaviour strategies
·Record-keeping, safeguarding, and petty cash management
·Engage in planning and attending healthcare appointments
·Support school/vocational attendance and personal growth
·Take part in home activities, trips, and holidays
Shift Pattern:
·Mixture of long (15hr) and short (8hr) shifts
·Average of 35 hours/week on a rolling rota
