Senior Systems Engineer

• East London (2 days onsite)

• Up to £80,000 (flexible for exceptional profiles)


An innovative and fast-growing broadcast technology organisation is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to take ownership of mission-critical, global transmission infrastructure. This is a design, automation, and ownership role where you’ll shape high-availability distributed systems powering live international events and critical content delivery.


The Opportunity

You’ll own and evolve a Linux-based infrastructure estate, drive Infrastructure as Code initiatives, and build out observability platforms that give real insight into performance and resilience. You’ll work across AWS and GCP environments, automate everything that should be automated, and collaborate closely with cyber teams to ensure robust system security.

You’ll also contribute to specialist system builds deployed globally for live events - including solutions leveraging satellite, 4G/5G, and alternative connectivity platforms.


Key Experience Required

• Strong Linux systems engineering experience (Rocky, Debian, Ubuntu)

• Automation with Ansible

• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)

• Cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP)

• Observability & monitoring tooling

• Experience designing and operating distributed, high-availability systems

• Solid networking fundamentals

• Ability to work autonomously and own technical outcomes


Desirable

• Broadcast or telecoms background

• Experience deploying systems into live networking environments

• Exposure to ML/LLM technologies
