Senior Technical Services Manager – Commercial & Life Sciences Projects - Hybrid Working

We’re looking for an experienced and driven Senior Technical Services Manager to join a dynamic and forward-thinking main contractor delivering high-quality fit-out and refurbishment projects across London.


This is a senior leadership opportunity offering much more than a traditional TSM role. You’ll play a pivotal part in shaping the future of the technical division, with a clear path to build and lead your own team, head up a business unit, and contribute to strategic direction at a senior level.


Compensation: £90,000 – £110,000 basic salary, plus a strong commission structure tied to project performance and team success.


About the Projects:

  • Project Types: CAT A & B fit-outs, refurbishments
  • Sectors: Commercial workplaces & life sciences
  • Location: Central London
  • Project Values: Up to £25 million


This role will see you involved from preconstruction through to delivery, supporting multiple teams across the business while ensuring technical excellence throughout.


Key Responsibilities:

Preconstruction Leadership (50%)

  • Develop strong relationships with consultants, PMs, and client-side IT teams
  • Drive the technical side of the tender process, including:
  • Interpreting ERs and consultant specs
  • Producing and reviewing RFIs
  • Attending site visits
  • Creating commissioning programmes and technical inputs
  • Coordinating subcontractors for aligned tender returns
  • Reviewing pricing/design proposals
  • Attending pitch interviews and recommending key supply chain partners
  • Contribute to subcontractor performance tracking and new supply chain development


Project Delivery Support (50%)

  • Review validation reports and provide technical insight to clients
  • Approve drawings, technical submissions, and method statements
  • Liaise with consultants and drive sign-offs
  • Chair MEP DTMs and produce accurate, actionable minutes
  • Monitor on-site installations for quality and compliance
  • Attend commissioning, witness testing, and manage handover processes
  • Review mechanical and electrical O&M documentation
  • Engage with subcontractor teams as required


What We’re Looking For:

  • A trade-qualified background with strong design, installation and commissioning experience
  • Proven experience in both D&B and traditional contracting environments
  • Strong technical knowledge across MEP disciplines
  • Confident communicator and team player with leadership ambition
  • Desire to grow a team and influence the direction of a business unit
