Senior Transport Planner \n\n£45,000 - £55,000\n\nBirmingham \n \nA well-established transport planning consultancy is seeking a Senior Transport Planner to join its growing team, working on a diverse portfolio of development-led projects across the Northwest and throughout the UK.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a transport planner with a minimum of 3 years’ experience who is passionate about development planning and enjoys working across a wide variety of schemes including residential, mixed-use, logistics, retail, education, and regeneration projects.\n\nThe successful candidate will take ownership of projects, acting as a key point of contact for clients while providing expert advice on transport and highway matters. The role will also involve engaging with local authorities and relevant stakeholders to help secure successful planning outcomes.\n\nThe Role\n\nManage and deliver transport planning projects from inception to completion\nPrepare Transport Assessments, Statements, Travel Plans, and site access reports\nUndertake junction capacity modelling (e.g. ARCADY, PICADY) and traffic signal modelling (LinSig)\nSupport preliminary design work including junction improvements and highway schemes (AutoCAD)\nCarry out swept path analysis (AutoTrack)\nProduce high-quality plans and graphics using GIS or similar software\nContribute to client proposals, submissions, and wider business development activitiesRequirements\n\nDegree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or similar\nAt least 3 years’ experience within development-focused transport planning\nWorking knowledge of relevant policy, standards, and guidance\nStrong communication skills and ability to liaise with clients and stakeholders\nMembership of (or working towards) a relevant professional body such as CIHT or ICE\nProactive approach with strong attention to detail and organisational skillsWhat’s on Offer\n\nCompetitive salary (dependent on experience)\n25 days annual leave, increasing with seniority\nFlexible working arrangements\nPrivate medical insurance and health cash plan\nEnhanced pension scheme\nLife assurance and death in service cover\nCycle scheme and travel loan options\nAnnual bonus\n\nThis is a great opportunity for a Senior Transport Planner to become part of a well-established, successful firm with plenty of room to grow.\n\nPlease apply now!
