The Role

I'm currently supporting a growing logistics operation in the Humber region, driven by continued expansion, who are looking to strengthen their transport team with an experienced Senior Transport Planner.

This is a commercially focused, KPI-driven role, offering an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into a more senior position with future leadership potential.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate daily transport operations across a busy fleet

Optimise routes and maximise vehicle utilisation

Monitor and analyse performance against key KPIs

Support cost control and service delivery improvements

Manage planning challenges and resolve operational issues

Work closely with operational teams to ensure efficient execution

Produce and review plan vs actual performance reporting

Identify and drive continuous improvement across the transport function

Support effective use of transport planning systems

Assist with planning requirements during peak and seasonal periods

Key Relationships

Requirements

Experience within transport planning / logistics / fleet operations

Strong understanding of route planning and vehicle utilisation

Commercial awareness with a focus on cost and service performance

Experience working in a KPI-driven environment

Strong problem-solving and organisational skills

Ability to operate in a fast-paced operational environment
