The Role

I'm currently supporting a growing logistics operation in the Humber region, driven by continued expansion, who are looking to strengthen their transport team with an experienced Senior Transport Planner.

This is a commercially focused, KPI-driven role, offering an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into a more senior position with future leadership potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily transport operations across a busy fleet
• Optimise routes and maximise vehicle utilisation
• Monitor and analyse performance against key KPIs
• Support cost control and service delivery improvements
• Manage planning challenges and resolve operational issues
• Work closely with operational teams to ensure efficient execution
• Produce and review plan vs actual performance reporting
• Identify and drive continuous improvement across the transport function
• Support effective use of transport planning systems
• Assist with planning requirements during peak and seasonal periods

Requirements

• Experience within transport planning / logistics / fleet operations
• Strong understanding of route planning and vehicle utilisation
• Commercial awareness with a focus on cost and service performance
• Experience working in a KPI-driven environment
• Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced operational environment
