Senior Underwriter // ATE Insurance

We have been retained by a private equity-backed insurance platform seeking to appoint a Senior Underwriter within its After-the-Event (ATE) insurance team. The business has built a strong reputation within the litigation risk and ATE insurance market and, with continued backing from its investors, is expanding its underwriting capability to support growing demand across complex disputes and litigation portfolios.

In this role, you will play a key part in assessing and underwriting ATE insurance risks, working closely with litigation funders, law firms, brokers, and claims advisers across a broad range of disputes. The position will involve evaluating the merits of underlying claims, structuring insurance solutions to support funded litigation strategies, and contributing to the firm’s broader underwriting strategy within the litigation risk market.

You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with litigation funders, claimant law firms, and intermediaries, helping to originate new opportunities while supporting the continued growth of the platform’s ATE offering.

Candidates must have direct experience within the litigation funding market, whether from a litigation funder, ATE insurer, specialist broker, or disputes advisory environment, and should have a strong understanding of the dynamics between funders, insurers, and claimant firms within funded litigation structures.
