A leading Insurance Company is looking to appoint an Underwriting Legal Counsel in London on a 6-month contract. There is potential for this role to become permanent. This role is central to supporting the negotiation, structuring, and execution of a wide range of complex and bespoke (re)insurance transactions, particularly those at the intersection of insurance and capital markets. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver high-quality legal solutions in a fast-paced and innovative environment.

Duties will include:

Provide strategic legal leadership and oversight across all underwriting-related transactions, including: Funded and unfunded regulatory capital relief deals Structured credit transactions Asset-backed non-payment insurance across multiple asset classes Oversee the negotiation and drafting of complex legal documentation, ensuring clarity, risk alignment, and support of commercial goals. Instruct and manage external counsel on complex matters, ensuring external advice is commercial, timely, and cost-effective.
