Job Description
Baltic Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with Express Engineering, a leading Oil & Gas equipment manufacturer based in the North East, to support with their search for an experienced Senior Welding Engineer.\n\nOverall Purpose: \n\nProvide technical leadership across all welding and materials engineering activities ensuring industry-leading quality, integrity, safety and efficiency from bid stage through to successful delivery.\nAs the subject matter expert in welding engineering, you will play a critical role in business winning, execution, customer confidence and continuous technical improvement, directly influencing manufacturing quality, cost-efficiency and delivery performance.Key Duties: \n\nBusiness Winning & Customer Support:\n\nSupport quotation and order kick-off stages with expert welding input to assess feasibility and identify qualification gaps or risks.\nProvide technical documentation and WPS/WPQR information for customer review & approval to support bids.\nBuild and maintain strong technical relationships with key clients via internal and external meetings/site visits.Order Execution & Technical Ownership:\n\nDefine all technical requirements for welding and NDT, ensuring alignment with customer, regulatory and code requirements.\nSelect or develop WPS and qualify new WPQRs where required to enable manufacturing.\nPrepare and issue all welding documentation and data packs for production and customer approval.\nResolve welding-related technical issues promptly to protect quality and delivery performance.Quality, Audit & HSE Assurance:\n\nCollaborate with Quality to verify compliance with all customer, code and internal standards.\nSupport welding-related internal and external audits as required.\nMonitor weld quality, identify root causes of defects and drive preventative improvements.\nPromote and maintain continuous improvement and exemplary HSE standards.Technical Improvement & Process Advancement:\n\nInvestigate new welding processes, consumables and technologies to enhance capability, efficiency and productivity.\nLead and support technical improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.\nProvide technical guidance, training and development to trainee and junior welding engineers.Key Requirements: \n\nAn experienced IWE / EWE qualified Welding Engineer.\nHave extensive welding engineering experience in a relevant manufacturing / engineering environment.\nHave a strong background in oil & gas / offshore / subsea manufacturing ideally with an OEM or Tier 1 supplier.\nPossess advanced technical knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy and NDE for industry-standard materials.The Package: \n\nFrom £55,000 per annum depending on experience.\nMonday-Thursday 7:30AM-4:30PM, Friday 7:30AM-1:30PM(some flexibility offered).\n25 days annual holiday in addition to statutory bank holidays.\nHoliday Buy and Sell scheme.\nSalary Sacrifice Pension scheme.\nGenerous contractual sick pay scheme.\nEnhanced Maternity, Paternity and Adoption Pay.\nEmployee Assistance Programme.\nCycle to Work scheme.\nSports & Social Club.\nOn-site parking
