Context

We have a new opportunity for an experienced Senior/Principal Consultant to join our growing Strategic Modelling team, based from any of our UK offices with the flexibility of hybrid working. The successful candidate will join a high performing Transport Planning and Modelling team providing strong technical guidance to both existing and new clients across the UK and Ireland. They will focus on developing strategic highway, public transport and/or multi‑modal models. With the support of the Modelling and Appraisal, Public Transport and Transport Planning teams across the UK and Ireland, you will play a key role in delivering and managing projects.

Missions / Main Duties

Supporting the management and delivery of Data, Modelling and Analytics projects in the UK and Ireland. Becoming a technical expert in the development and application of Strategic Modelling systems including the setting up and running of modelling scenarios and the extraction, processing and presentation of modelling results to clients and stakeholders.

  • Act as a technical lead on small/medium projects
  • Execute tasks to quality, time and budget
  • Specify information requirements directly to the client
  • Identify the information needed to deliver tasks
  • Review the accuracy of Assistant consultants' analysis
  • Stakeholder, client and cross‑functional relationship management
  • Demonstrate thoroughness and judgement in analysing information and presenting conclusions
  • Demonstrate intermediate proficiency in the application of a broad range of methods, techniques and tools
  • Take responsibility for defined sections of SYSTRA reports, ensuring successful project delivery to time, cost, quality and other contractual requirements
  • Work with clients to understand ultimate objectives and desired outcomes for each project

Profile / Skills

  • Qualitative & quantitative research skills
  • Working with complex datasets
  • Transport or mathematical modelling experience
  • Experience using any one or more of Cube, SATURN, Aimsun, Paramics, Vissum, Vissim, EMME
  • Experience with the NTA RMS
  • Computer skills including some of the following:
    • AutoCAD design
    • Spreadsheets
    • Databases
    • Programming / coding
    • Statistical analysis
  • Being a team player and contributing to projects in other sectors as required (Transport Planning, Rail consultancy, development planning etc)
