Join to apply for the Senior/Principal Landscape Planner role at RPS
RPS is looking for experienced Landscape Planner(s) to join our team at Senior or Principal level. Working both alone and as part of a team you will assist the successful delivery of projects at all scales, across a wide range of sectors throughout the UK.
We work on a diverse range of projects including some of the most exciting Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects in the UK and internationally, including large scale energy projects - think GW rather than MW! - as well as renewable, commercial, education, residential, leisure and major infrastructure developments. Our renewables work includes solar, offshore and onshore wind, international interconnector and energy storage projects.
We are RPS, our projects are all around you. We define, design, and take care of projects that create shared value to a composite, urbanising and resource-scarce world. Our people are our success. We are looking for people who can find a solution to the problems that matter. Here you will find work that is stimulating and rewarding, and you will be guided every step of the way.
What You Will Be Doing
Reflecting the range of our work, your work will include site and desk-based work. Typically, your work will include:
- Working on landscape projects for both internal and external stakeholders
- Writing and contributing to LVIAs / SLVIAs / TVIAs to assist a wide range of projects at all scales, including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, typically in the renewables sector
- Undertaking site visits and viewpoint photography
- Inputting into landscape masterplans and landscape and ecological management plans
- Working closely with other colleagues in the Landscape Team and more widely within RPS, including multi-disciplinary colleagues and project teams
You will have a degree in Landscape Architecture or related discipline and ideally be a Chartered Member of The Landscape Institute (CMLI) with relevant years of experience applicable to this level, and be able to offer the following:
- Excellent report writing and organisational techniques
- Experience of conducting LVIAs for a range of project scales. Knowledge of, and experience working on, projects in the renewable energy sector would be an advantage
- Trained in AutoCAD and desktop publishing software
- Be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and under your own initiative to targets
- Willingness to travel for project work
- Experience of, and contributing to, the DCO (Development Consent Order) process would be an advantage. Similarly, experience of, or willingness to be involved in, providing evidence at Public Inquiry.
We are an accredited training provider – from entry level to master’s degree level professional qualifications in leadership & management and executive coaching & mentoring, we assist learning and development for everyone.
A personal development plan and a transparent career pathway puts you in the driving seat of your career and you will be assisted as far as you want to go.
We identify the need to work flexibly, with agile offices and hybrid working offered as standard, we are happy to communicate about flexible working. This is a workplace that works for you.
A career here is far from ordinary. Here you are not a number, you are part of the solution.
What happens next?
The Talent Acquisition Team will be in touch to let you know the outcome of your application. If your application is progressed, you will have a conversation with one of our recruiters prior to an interview with the Team. All applications will be considered.
