Principal Transport Planner / Senior Transport Planner\n Location: Newcastle or Leeds (Hybrid Working)\n Type: Full-time, Permanent\n\nA leading UK transport consultancy with a strong presence across the North of England is seeking a Principal Transport Planner or Senior Transport Planner to join its well-established Transport Planning team.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced transport planner looking to work on a diverse portfolio of development-led projects across the private and public sectors, within a supportive and collaborative environment that offers genuine career progression.\n\nThe Role\n The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering development-related transport planning projects, including:\n\nPreparation of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans\nInput into Environmental Impact Assessments (transport chapters)\nData collection, analysis and interpretation\nPreparation of technical reports and drawings\nUndertaking site visits and attending client and stakeholder meetings\nMentoring and supporting junior members of the team\nAssisting with client liaison and fee proposal preparation as requiredClient Sectors\n Projects are typically delivered for:\n\nResidential and commercial developers\nLocal and highway authorities\nArchitects, planners and other built environment professionalsCandidate Profile\n This role would suit a motivated and technically competent transport planner with several years' UK consultancy experience.\n\nKey requirements:\n\nProven experience producing Transport Assessments and Travel Plans\nStrong data analysis and reporting skills\nKnowledge of highway design principles relevant to site access\nProficiency in AutoCAD and GIS\nStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel\nExperience using industry software such as TRICS, TEMPro, Junctions, LinSIG and TRANSYT\nSolid understanding of the UK planning process\nPrevious UK-based transport planning experienceQualifications\n\nDegree or Master's in a relevant discipline (e.g. Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography)\nProfessional accreditation or working towards (e.g. CIHT, CILT, TPP, ICE)What's on Offer\n\nHybrid working (Newcastle or Leeds base)\nCareer progression within a respected consultancy\nExposure to a broad range of high-quality projects\nSupportive team environment and professional developmentIf interested in this position, but perhaps would like to find out more before formally applying, please contact Taylor Smith at Calibre Search Manchester.\n\nCalibre Search promote equality in the workplace and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified candidates regardless of their sex, race, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.
