Job Title: M&E Service Manager

Location: Brighton

Salary: £50,778 per annum + benefits

Are you an experienced M&E Service Manager looking for your next challenge?

We’re currently recruiting for a driven and capable M&E Service Manager to lead a dedicated on-site facilities team for a large and complex public sector estate in Brighton.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across all Mechanical, Electrical, and Building Fabric disciplines. You’ll play a key role in maintaining site compliance, improving operational performance, and ensuring value through effective management of sub-contractors and internal resources.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the cost-effective delivery of all planned and reactive maintenance services
  • Manage the on-site engineering team and all sub-contracted labour
  • Maintain compliance systems and ensure all statutory documentation is up to date
  • Coordinate specialist service providers and manage associated registers (asset, insurance, inspection)
  • Use systems such as CAFM (Maximo) and BMS to manage scheduling and resource allocation
  • Lead the development and review of PPM schedules to optimise asset performance
  • Control operational budgets and manage stock levels to ensure availability of key parts
  • Work closely with site management and the client team to ensure high standards of service
  • Support with the delivery of small works, remedial projects, and compliance-based upgrades
  • Ensure health & safety, quality, and environmental standards are met across all works
  • Option to train as an Authorised or Responsible Person in specialist areas (e.g. Water, Medical Gases, Asbestos)


What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong background in M&E facilities management in a large, complex environment
  • Proven experience leading a multi-disciplinary team, including subcontractor management
  • Working knowledge of compliance, statutory inspections, and asset lifecycle planning
  • Proficient with CAFM systems (preferably Maximo), BMS, and PPM scheduling
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solution-focused approach
  • Relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (e.g. HNC/HND or equivalent)
