Senior ServiceNow Engineer (GRC / IRM)

9 month contract, up to £750 pd inside IR35

About the Role


We’re partnering with a leading global banking organisation to hire a Senior ServiceNow Engineer to join their core platform team. This is a critical role focused on enhancing and expanding the organisation’s ServiceNow GRC / IRM capabilities, working closely with the Platform Manager and senior engineering team.


You’ll play a key role in driving the design, development, and optimisation of ServiceNow IRM solutions, ensuring robust governance, automation, and alignment to best practice across a highly regulated environment.


Key Responsibilities ServiceNow Engineer:

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for ServiceNow, with a focus on GRC / IRM modules (IRM, BCM, TPRM)
  • Lead the design and development of complex ServiceNow solutions, aligned to business and regulatory requirements
  • Translate business needs into scalable, automated technical solutions
  • Own technical governance, ensuring adherence to best practice and maintaining strong platform health
  • Manage enhancements, integrations, and platform upgrades, including testing and deployment
  • Drive continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance automation, efficiency, and cost savings
  • Support audit, risk, and security requirements across a regulated environment
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders across Technology, Risk, and Operations
  • Oversee work delivered by junior and offshore team members
  • Ensure high-quality documentation, processes, and training materials are maintained


Key Skills & Experience ServiceNow Engineer:

  • 5+ years ServiceNow engineering experience within enterprise environments
  • Strong expertise in GRC / IRM modules (BCM and TPRM advantageous).
  • Proven experience supporting end-to-end ServiceNow implementations and enhancements
  • Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and regulatory environments (financial services preferred)
  • Experience ensuring alignment to ServiceNow best practices and platform governance
  • Ability to work across technical and business stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on automation and optimisation
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as ITIL / COBIT
  • Relevant ServiceNow certifications highly desirable
  • Experience with DORA or similar regulatory frameworks is a plus
