Location: Bolton Pay Rate: £35 per hour (PAYE) Contract Length: 10-12 weeks Start Date: 26 January 2026 Job Type: Temporary / Contract

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Setting Out Engineer to work on a new Logistics / Distribution Centre project in Bolton. The role will focus on setting out works for the external groundworks package and requires a competent engineer who can operate independently on site.
This position is suitable for candidates with strong groundworks and civils experience who are available for a short-term contract.

Key Responsibilities

Setting out for kerbs, slabs, drainage, and all external groundworks

Reading and interpreting construction and AutoCAD drawings

Using Total Station or similar surveying equipment to ensure accuracy

Carrying out site measurements and checks

Working closely with site management to meet programme requirements

Ensuring works are completed safely and to specification

Required Experience & Skills

Previous experience working as a Setting Out Engineer on groundworks or civils projects

Experience on commercial, industrial, or logistics projects preferred

Good working knowledge of AutoCAD

Confident using Total Station or equivalent surveying instruments

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Qualifications

Valid CSCS Card (essential)

HNC / HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline

Additional Information

£35 per hour PAYE

10-12 week contract

Immediate requirement for a 26/01/26 start

Suitable for candidates already eligible to work in the UK
