Setting Out Engineer

CNX Recruitment is delighted to be working in partnership with a well-established civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Setting Out Engineer for a project based in Millport, Scotland. This is a contract role running through to July, with accommodation provided for the duration of the works.

The Role

You will play a key role in delivering a live civil engineering project, ensuring all setting out and surveying duties are carried out accurately and efficiently to maintain programme and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Setting out for civil engineering works (foundations, drainage, infrastructure, concrete works, etc.)

*

Interpreting and working from technical drawings and specifications

*

Using GPS, total stations, and other surveying equipment

*

Ensuring works are completed in line with design and quality requirements

*

Liaising with site management and subcontractors

*

Maintaining accurate site records and as-built information

Requirements

*

Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer within civil engineering

*

Competent using setting out equipment (e.g., Leica, Trimble or similar)

*

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

*

CSCS card (essential)

*

Strong communication and organisational skills

*

Ability to work independently on a busy site
