Grafters recruit are searching for a sheet metal worker in the Peterborough area, We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience fabricating sheet metal components, along with the ability to perform light TIG welding as needed. This role is hands-on, detail-oriented, and essential to supporting our production and project operations. Key Responsibilities Fabricate, cut, bend, and shape sheet metal components according to technical drawings and specifications Operate standard sheet metal machinery such as Press brakes, shears, rollers, and hand tools Perform light welding (typically MIG/TIG) Measure, mark, and layout materials with accuracy Inspect finished products for quality, fit, and compliance with project requirements Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment Follow all company safety policies and industry best practices Skills & Qualifications Proven experience as a sheet metal worker or similar fabrication role Basic to intermediate welding skills (MIG/TIG preferred) Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics Strong understanding of metal fabrication techniques Competent with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical ability to lift materials, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks Preferred Qualifications (Not Required) Welding certifications Forklift or lifting equipment certification What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience: £16 p/hr Opportunities for skill development and training Supportive team environment Stable, long-term employment with room for growth
