An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Shift Engineer to join the Engineering Team at a five-star deluxe residential property. Reporting to the Engineering Manager and working in line with company policies, procedures, and the Engineering Standards Manual, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating all plant, machinery, fixtures, fittings, and building fabric.
Your role will be pivotal in ensuring exceptional resident comfort, operational efficiency, and cost-effective building performance within a luxury residential environment.
Key Responsibilities Compliance & Statutory Requirements
Ensure all statutory inspections and requirements are met
Maintain accurate and up-to-date certification in designated Building LogbooksOperations & Maintenance
Take ownership of defect repairs and ensure the safe, efficient operation of all building plant and equipment
Maintain and operate systems including boilers, pumps, chillers, air handling units, fans, electrical distribution, pipework, ductwork, and garage plant according to established proceduresCustomer Service Excellence
Deliver a consistently high standard of service to residents and colleagues
Maintain a professional, courteous, and solutions-focused approach at all timesTask Management & Systems
Manage reactive helpdesk requests via BuildingLink, providing timely updates and closure feedback
Use the CAFM system to receive, track, and complete tasks in line with specifications and service level agreementsBMS Monitoring
Monitor the Building Management System (BMS) for alarms, incorrect operation, setpoints, and scheduling
Respond promptly to faults or abnormal system behaviourFeedback & Continuous Improvement
Provide feedback to the Technical Services Manager on software platforms, maintenance activities, plant performance, Health & Safety, and energy efficiency initiativesEmergency Response & Fire Procedures
Carry communication equipment and respond promptly to incidents, providing clear updates on repair status
Follow fire alarm and emergency procedures, ensuring sprinkler systems and emergency generators are operational
Isolate systems when instructed by the Duty Manager or London Fire BrigadeIdeal Candidate Experience & Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an engineering role
Relevant electrical or mechanical qualifications
Previous experience within an ultra-luxury or high-end residential environment (desirable)Skills & Attributes
Exceptional attention to detail and quality standards
Strong capability across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
Excellent communication skills with a strong customer-service mindset
